About grolabotography

“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field.
I’ll meet you there.
Where the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other doesn’t make any sense.”
Rumi
There is only one of us: Peter Haworth who creates grolabotography. What is that? Hopefully it defies explanation in words. Experience it through the images here and perhaps it will make more sense…… perhaps.
Once upon a time, I did business. Buy, sell, merge, compete, manage, control. Then I became a student of life on the inside, letting go, surrendering. I learned about being present and appreciating the moment in front of me. That moment that took 13.8 billion years for everything in the  universe to line up perfectly for the moment unfolding in front of me now, right now.
I dabbled in photography for years but then I visited the high arctic a couple of times and the beauty of mother nature found its way into my soul. I started taking photography seriously on a trip around Svalbard. It was amazing. I was in awe. (Put it on your bucket list and take a good camera.) On the trip with me as I was catching the photography disease was a professional wildlife photographer and a wildlife artist from Jackson Hole, Wyoming: Jason Williams and Carrie Wild.  I am so grateful to them.  They gave me some great tips and advice. So on the way home to New Zealand I stopped in Hong Kong and upset my bank manager!
I love to shoot outdoors. To be in nature all around me and appreciate it, stand in awe of it. Grolabotography is my attempt to communicate the feeling of those moments in nature. Most of my images are in New Zealand – we are blessed! Landscapes during the day and night, astro, wildlife and some not so wildlife. And some things I call impressions.
